Poila Boishakh

Bengali New Year, observed on the first day of the Bengali solar month Boishakh (mid-April). Businesses open fresh account books (Haal Khata), and families wear new clothes and share sweets. Celebrated in West Bengal, Tripura and Bangladesh.
