गणेश चवथ — म्हत्व
गणेश चवथ — कोंकणी हिंदूंचो सगळ्यांत व्हडलो आनी प्रिय उत्सव. भाद्रपद शुक्ल चतुर्थीक मनयतात. भक्त घरांत पारंपरिक गणपती मूर्ती बसयतात आनी १, १.५, ३, ५, ७, ९ वा अनंत चतुर्दशी मेरेन पूजा करतात. गोवांत सरकारी सुटी; प्रवासी कोंकणी आपल्या गांवांक चवथेक खर येतात. मोदक, नेवऱ्यो, पात्रोडे, पंगणी — चवथेची विशेष फराळ. माटोळी (पवित्र हुंगायल्ल्या वेली आनी सोप्ल्यांची सजावट) कोंकणी चवथेची खाशेली परंपरा.
गणेश चवथ — पुराणकथा
According to the Shiva Purana, Goddess Parvati created Ganesha from turmeric paste to guard her door. When Lord Shiva returned and was denied entry, he beheaded Ganesha. To pacify Parvati, Shiva placed an elephant head on Ganesha and revived him, declaring him the first to be worshipped in any ritual.
गणेश चवथ — पुजा विधी
- At an auspicious time, install the clay Ganesha idol with sankalp and puja.
- Each morning, offer flowers, durva grass, modak, and perform aarti.
- Chant Ganesh mantras and stotras; offer coconut and fruits.
- On the final day (1.5, 5, 7, or 10 days), perform visarjan—immersion in a water body.
- Join processions if in Maharashtra; distribute prasad to neighbours.
